OCR that reads real scans
Tesseract-powered text recognition with per-field cropping, deskew and de-noise — tuned for messy, real-world paperwork, not pristine PDFs.
Offline by design · Windows desktop
Scan Finder reads your paperwork, pulls out the supplier, date, reference and totals, and files every document into the right folder — without sending a single page to the cloud.
Built for people who don't want their documents in someone else's cloud.
Capabilities
From a folder of scans to a tidy, searchable archive — read, understood, and filed by software that never phones home.
Tesseract-powered text recognition with per-field cropping, deskew and de-noise — tuned for messy, real-world paperwork, not pristine PDFs.
Pulls out the company, date, reference, totals and any custom fields you define — using learned templates, anchors and validation, not blind guesses.
Every confirmation teaches it where the fields live for that supplier and layout. Accuracy compounds — the tenth invoice is far easier than the first.
Files land in Company / Year / Month with a clean name and an XML metadata sidecar — your folder structure, your rules, built automatically.
Find any filed document by company, reference, date or type in seconds — full-text from the OCR you already captured.
Optional: let other PCs on your network search and request documents over an encrypted local connection — no internet, no third party.
How it works
You stay in control of what gets filed — the software does the reading and the typing.
Point Scan Finder at a folder of scans or PDFs — or let it watch a folder and pick up new files automatically.
OCR runs locally, the right template is matched, and the key fields are lifted out with a confidence score for each.
A quick review queue surfaces only what needs a glance. Correct anything once — it remembers for next time.
The document is renamed, filed into the right folder, tagged with metadata, and ready to search. Hands off.
Gets better with use
Most tools treat every document like the first one. Scan Finder builds a private, on-device template for each supplier and layout. It remembers where the reference sits on a Northgate Supplies worksheet, how a Brightline Utilities statement is laid out, which field is the customer and which is the date.

Questions
Yes. OCR, extraction, learning and filing all run on your PC. No document, no page, no extracted text is ever uploaded. The only optional network feature is the LAN add-on, which stays inside your own network over an encrypted local connection.
No account. You only need to be online briefly to activate a paid license; after that Scan Finder works fully offline, with a grace period for license re-checks.
Scanned images and PDFs — invoices, sales orders, purchase orders, statements, worksheets and your own custom document types. A multi-document batch PDF can be split into separate documents automatically.
A seat license is bound to one device. Release it from the old machine and re-activate on the new one — your filing rules and learned templates are part of your local data, which you can back up and restore.
No. The seat license is a one-time purchase with free point updates. You own the version you bought; it keeps working whether or not you ever pay again.
